The Silver Spring Contra Dance is held in the Great Hall of the Silver Spring Civic Building, which is climate controlled. Experienced and new dancers are welcome to join us for an evening of traditional American contras and two waltzes, plus occasional squares, circle mixers, or other couple dances, to live music with experienced callers. If you've never tried contra dancing before, there's a brief orientation session starting at 7, and if this is your first time, you get in free! You don't need to bring a partner, but smooth-soled shoes that fasten securely are recommended.
