Refund Policy

The Folklore Society of Greater Washington is committed to providing high-quality folk events in Washington DC, Maryland, and/or Virginia. We understand that sometimes plans change, and we strive to accommodate our participants to the best of our ability. Please review our refund policy for advance event registration payments below:

1. Refund by Canceling a Registration Before Event Start:

        • Participants may login to the fsgw.org website and cancel their advance event registration before event start. This will convert payment into a credit on the account.
        • Account credit can be used to pay for another event registration.
        • Participants can request by email to office@fsgw.org that a credit be refunded to them.

2. Refund Requests Before Event Start:

        • Participants may request a full refund of their event registration payment if the request is made before the start of the event.
        • Refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to office@fsgw.org.
        • The Folklore Society of Greater Washington will process the refund within 7 business days upon receipt of the request.

3. No Refunds After Event Start:

        • Refund requests made after the start of the event will normally not be honored.
        • This policy applies to all events organized by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington, regardless of location or nature.

4. Exceptions:

        • In case of extenuating circumstances such as medical emergencies or unforeseen personal events, refund requests after the event start may be considered on a caseby-case basis.
        • Requests for exceptions must be submitted in writing via email to office@fsgw.org with relevant documentation supporting the request.

By registering for an event organized by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington, participants acknowledge and agree to adhere to this refund policy.

Note that it is possible to register in advance for an event without paying in advance, by using the “Invoice me” button instead of “Pay online” in the “Review and confirm” registration step. Payment can then be made online later, or on arrival at the event.
