(technically in Washington DC, but just a few blocks from downtown Takoma Park.  Just 1 block from the Takoma metro station)

Note:  The red line is closed from Takoma station going north to Wheaton.  WMATA is running shuttle buses between the affected stations.

Caller: Michael Karcher

Michael has been having the time of his life calling dances and weekends around North America since 2011. He has honed a warm and concise style of teaching and calling, to the delight of dancers across the continent.

Band: Petrichord (Sophie Chang on cello, Bobby LaRose on keys, mandolin, and bones, and Colleen Holroyd on fiddle and feet)

Petrichord is a dynamic contra dance trio based in the Washington, DC area, weaving together a number of influences to create an eminently danceable, engaging experience. Colleen Holroyd brings her passion for Québécois, Cape Breton, and Scottish fiddle tunes to the band. Sophie Chang injects catchy and colorful accompaniments, drawing from her experience across a wide range of styles. Rounding out the trio is Bobby LaRose, adding his love of old time and Irish music.

Lesson at 7:00pm, Dance is from 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Registration is required of all participants. Pre-registration is preferred - you may pay online or wait to pay at the door. You may register at the door. Cash and credit card are accepted at the door. Registrations may be cancelled prior to the event, and any payment will be refunded as a credit for future use. No refunds will be available after the event has started.
