Contra dance in the Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park, Glen Echo, MD. Co-sponsored by Friday Night Dancers and FSGW.

Caller: Susan Taylor

Band: Charlie Pilzer will be 70 years old. In celebration, he is making this dance a benefit for FND, FSGW and Glen Echo by covering the expenses for the caller and the musicians. Even if you are unable to attend the dance, perhaps you will consider registering for the dance as a donation.

Charlie is playing this dance (Piano) with his friends Rebecca Weiss (Fiddle),  Andrea Hoag (Fiddle), Leigh Pilzer (Soprano Sax), and Susan Brandt (Flute). Maybe more surprise guest musicians!

Charlie and Andrea have been playing partners and toured extensively for close to 30 years. Andrea, Rebecca and Charlie played together in the Polka Pants Band. Leigh is Charlie’s sister, an accomplished Jazz saxophonist, and played with Charlie and Andrea in Serpentine. Susan and Charlie played together in an orchestra in High School, in the Capital Quicksteps and in Are We There Yet? It’s closer than friends, more like family!

Gender Free Terms for all dance calls. All dances will be taught.
