MASSIVE DONUT (concert)

  • 09 Aug 2019
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Lloyd House

MASSIVE DONUT performs a wide variety of traditional [and frankly, non-traditional] Americana-ish music. Kind of a string band, kind of a jug band, kind of a lot of different kinds of bands, but definitely a fun band. They totally rocked at the last two Washington Folk Festivals and got people dancing in the aisles.

Massive Donut is comprised of: Pearl Bailes —wicked good harmonica, vocals and sunny disposition; Brendan Bailes —hi-precision washboard and kazoo, vocals and dashing demeanor; Brent Meier, bass and maybe vocals; Charlie Bean —driving guitar, vocals, and million dollar smile; Skip Casale —mandolin and guitar, vocals, and endless non-sequiturs.

Put all these people in a band and it’s a high energy ball of fun.

Massive Donut: A fairly wholesome family experience.

Cosponsored by the Office of Historic Alexandria and FSGW, this is the August show in the Alexandria After work concert series held in the heart of Old Town Alexandria at 6 pm on the second Friday of each month. Take the free trolley that runs every 15 minutes from King Street Metro station! At Lloyd House, 220 N Washington St. 22314. (Indoors or outdoors depending on weather.) $15 suggested donation; cash bar.
