The Alligator Pears

  • 08 Feb 2019
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • The Lyceum

Piedmont blues singer and guitarist Eleanor Ellis has performed as a solo artist and with Rick Franklin, Flora Molton, and National Heritage Fellow Phil Wiggins, among other tradition bearers from the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation. Pearl Bailes on harmonica is another Archie’s Barbershop mainstay, also performing with the Capitol Hillbillies and Massive Donut. Together as the Alligator Pears, they put a fun spin on traditional Piedmont blues.

Cosponsored by the Office of Historic Alexandria and FSGW, this is the January concert in the Alexandria After Work concert series held in the heart of Old Town Alexandria at 6 pm on the second Friday of each month. Take the free trolley that runs every 15 minutes from King Street Metro station! At the Lyceum, 201 S. Washington Street. $15 suggested donation; cash bar.
