The current chorus from Yale in New Haven joins local alumni in a concert of sacred and secular music from Russia, Ukraine, and Georgia.
It's an unusual event in that it builds connections between current university students and alumni, using song as the glue. The alumni don't merely watch the concert--they sing in it! The chorus was founded in 1953, partly as a reaction to the Cold War--to learn the culture of the other (not necessarily the enemy-- and this was in the days of the Soviet Union), through the lens of their music, and the chorus has been using music as a means to cultural understanding ever since.
