SPECIAL EVENT: Square Dance Calling Class

Have you ever wanted to try calling a square dance? Ever been at a party where everyone wanted to dance, but no one knew the moves? Now's your chance to learn! We're hosting an introductory class on square dance calling, perfect for total beginners through intermediate callers. Beverly Smith (fiddle) and Erica Weiss (guitar) will join us to play the tunes. No dance calling experience necessary - we'll get you up and running in no time flat!

The class will be held at the Hillyer Art Space, 9 Hillyer Court NW, Washington, DC 20008. It's a few blocks from Dupont Circle Metro.

Cost of $20 for the calling class includes written materials and admission to the evening dance. PLUS, you'll have the opportunity to call at the evening dance, if you want to try out your new skills!

We also need DANCERS for the class, so come on out to support your friends and enjoy an afternoon of square dancing! We're asking our dance guinea pigs for a donation of $5 to cover the cost of the hall and to pay the musicians. No pre-registration necessary for this.
