Irish Music with Its Boots OnThe Red Wellies is a trio of fine Irish traditional musicians operating out ofAsheville, North Carolina. Fiddler Claudine Odell (her friends and family call her ?Beanie?) is a highlyrespected Irish fiddle teacher who has studied with some of the greats, including Tommy Peoples andMartin Hayes. Her nephew, Duncan Wickel, on fiddle and Uilleann pipes, has toured with John Doyleand is a member of the Cathie Ryan Band. Beanie and Duncan have been playing together for more thana decade, and the resulting ?twin fiddle? near-unison sound is goose-bump inducing. They are joined byVincent Fogarty, whose tasteful bouzouki accompaniment combines a love for traditional Irish music witha rock-solid sense of rhythm and style. Suggested donation $15.So pull on your mac and puddle jump to the home of Gordon Johnston and Karen Helbrect.
