English Echoes: English Country Dance Favorites, with guest Bruce Edwards on bassoon, features a selection of their favorite tunes offering a variety of meters ?- jigs, reels, waltzes, 3/2 time ?- and moods, from elegant and smooth to bouncy and lively. Each member of this trio brings a wealth of experience and style to the music. Liz?s distinctive piano style captures the mood of each dance through textures, harmony lines and exciting rhythms. She is a sought-after accompanist for English, Scottish, and contra dances. Colleen is recognized for her natural feel for dance music, whether the tune needs smooth handling or driving pulses. Becky is known for her rich tone and sensitive emotional connection to the music. Colleen, Liz, and Becky have found an easy chemistry as a trio, weaving together sweet harmonies and melodies with lively rhythmic punctuation. The evening will start with a concert, followed by dancing led by Brad Sayler from Charlottesville, VA. Join us for a lively evening of fine music and social dancing for all!
