Lisa Null hosts a Ballad Sing at Kefa Cafe (Special Event)
When
27 Oct 2006
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Location
Kefa Cafe, Silver Spring, MD
Dr. Kaung's Cabinet and the Folklore Society of Greater WashingtonpresentLisa Null hosting an a capella ballad sing from 6:30 to 8:00 in Space 7-10 at the Kefa Cafe.Lisa Null is a singer and folklorist who has performed in festivals and concerts throughout North America and Great Britain including Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion. Of all the songs she sings, none are more precious to her than the old story songs passed on for centuries through oral tradition. She will be singing some of her favorites, mostly old but also a few newer ones created in the old style. Come to listen, to sing on refrains, or to share a few of your favorites. Because of Halloween, ghostly ballads are particularly welcome.Admission is free, but be prepared to enjoy some of the best coffees, teas, and refreshments in the area. For further information contact: Amy Kincaid, the co-cordinator of Dr. Kaung's Cabinet: changematters (at) mindspring.com
