Shawn Brenneman calls with The Morrison Brothers (Sunday Contra)
When
10 Sep 2006
7:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Location
Glen Echo Park Bumper Car Pavilion, Glen Echo, MD
Shawn Brenneman from Charlottesville will call to the return of The Morrison Brothers ! Featuring the amazing talents of Owen Morrison on acoustic and electric guitar and mandolin, older brother Will Morrison on percussion, father Jim Morrison on fiddle, and Ralph Gordon on bass. Jim is a major figure in the contra dance revolution, having been in the scene since 1968 or so, and was a past Director of the Country Dance and Song Society of America, of which FSGW is a member organization.. The brothers grew up in the aesthetic, embraced it and have been part of the vanguard that have pushed the music to new frontiers. Their CD Busking at Twilight is a delight and should definitely be checked out.
