Fiddle and Banjo SummitAlan Jabbour and Ken Perlman will present program of Appalachian and Down East fiddle tunes, featuring most prominently the music Alan learned back in the 60s from his mentor, West Virginia fiddler Henry Reed. The interaction of fiddle and banjo in this duo is nothing short of extraordinary! Alan has a jaunty, lyrical fiddling style that is offset perfectly by Ken's inspired approach to clawhammer banjo, which features exploration of chord inversions, harmony lines, voice leading, note for note playing and counter-melody. History and anecdotes on the tunes, and on the lives of Reed and his contemporaries round out the presentation.
