Mark Gilston has been performing traditional folk music for over thirty years. His vast repetoire encompasses songs and instrumentals from North America and most of Europe, particularly the British Isles, Scandinavia, and the Balkans. His performances are laced with humor and a wide base of humor and eclectic knowledge. Among the many instruments he plays are concertina, Appalachian dulcimer and Bulgarian bagpipes, just to name a few. He has given concerts at numerous colleges, clubs and coffee houses throughout the north east US, as well as England and Canada; and he has been a featured performer and work shop leader for various folk music societies and at many folk festivals. Mark is currently performing music and living in Austin, Texas. He has a CD available on the CEI label.
