New Year's Day (Shape Note Singing)
When
01 Jan 2005
3:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location
St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Arlington, VA
It's our tradition to hold a 5-hour singing on New Year's Day in place of the 4th-Sunday singing in December, beginning an hour earlier than usual -- at 3:00 -- and running until 8:00, with a potluck supper break at 6:00. In addition to the 1991 Sacred Harp (loaner tunebooks available), we may also sing from the American Christmas Harp. With participation from a wide region, this event is a stirring start to the year.
