Much-loved by English country dancers all over the country, she brings her vast repertory, long experience, standards of good dancing, and concise teaching style to this special afternoon workshop and evening dance. JACQUELINE SCHWAB is widely known as the pianist on nine Ken Burns's PBS documentaries (including The Civil War, Baseball and his newest one on Mark Twain) and on recordings with Bare Necessities, singer Jean Redpath, fiddlers Alasdair Fraser, Laura Risk and others. She performed at the White House for President Clinton in 1997 to celebrate Burns' Lewis and Clark series and also at the Smithsonian in 2000 to celebrate its exhibition on the Presidency. A longtime dancer, Jacqueline teaches English dance workshops with Bare Necessities around the country. Helene and Jacqueline bring the flavor of English country dance Boston-style to Washington, D.C.THE WORKSHOP AND EVENING DANCE will take place at the Whitby Gymnasium, National Cathedral School, 3106 Woodley Rd., NW. Whitby Gym is between Wisconsin Ave. and 36th St. Enter from the courtyard on Woodley Rd. Park on Woodley Rd., 36th St., or other residential streets. HEL:ENE AND JACQUELINE will also be doing a concert and dance in Baltimore for the Baltimore Folk Music Society on Sunday March 30, planned in conjunction with the FSGW event.
