What Have We Wrought?DAN SCHATZ grew up in our midst, and one of his prime musical influences was the entire community of Folklore Society of Greater Washington music-makers. Sure, it helped that his Mom and Dad and brother were also heavily into folk music of varying kinds. But he took the music seriously--enough to get very good at it, and he developed into an amazing performer. WHILE HE PLAYS dulcimer, banjo, and guitar, his excellence truly comes out with the autoharp. And he has learned to deliver a song (whether traditional or one of his one) with a conviction that makes you pay attention. HE LEFT our midst to go to college and divinity school and to become a Unitarian minister, but his love of music has remained at the heart of his soul. He's returning to his hometown for an evening to share his music with us. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Dan Schatz plays and sings both traditional folk-songs and contemporary gems that sound like they've been polished forever.
