TOM LEWIS spent a quarter-century in Her Majesty's Royal Navy, much of it under the waves in a submarine (for such is the nature of the modern navy). He's collected many songs and stories of the sea, and the ones he didn't collect, he made up himself. His songs cover a wide range of nautical topics, from life onboard H.M. ships, through the loneliness and lure of the sea, to the very funny tale (tail?) of a randy canine ship's mascot. He sings (or leads) them all in a powerful voice that could overwhelm a ship's engine if it had to, and is far more melodious than the sound of wind creaking sails and rigging.
