Nancy and Dick have captivated audiences across North America with songs expressing their love of traditional music and their keen interest in the world of nature. Their performances include materials gathered from personalexperience and research into the history and folklore of North America and the Anglo/Irish/Scottish tradition.A concert by Dick and Nancy is a guarantee of rousingchoruses, unusual versions of old songs, and always a handful of new discoveries waiting to be shared.Combining their voices with high harmony and low humor, they sing some songs in traditional unaccompanied style and accompany others using a wide variety of instruments including, guitar, banjo, concertinas, and button accordion.They are featured together with Gordon Bok, Cindy Kallet, and Ann Dodson on So Bravely Dream: Songs of Jan Harmon, and they have sung with the Quasimodal Chorus on many of Gordon Bok's recordings, including Schooners and Ensemble. Nancy performs on Jan Harmon's A Samplerand Inca Hoots. Dick sings on Helen Schneyer's Somber, Sacred & Silly, and has recorded sound tracks for videos on the Ohio and Erie Canal and on lumbering in the Mainewoods. Nancy composed and played the theme music for Many Harbors, a series of videos on intergenerational studies.Dick and Nancy have performed at numerous folk club andfestival venues from San Francisco to the CanadianMaritimes. In addition, Dick serves as Program Director ofthis year's Folk Music Week at the Country Dance and Song Society's Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, Mass.
