Yuqin Wang and Zhengli "Rocky" Xu (Library of Congress Homegrown Concert)

Yuqin Wang and Zhengli "Rocky" Xu are Chinese rod puppeteers, originally from Beijing, and now living in the Portland , Oregon area. Chinese rod puppetry is an ancient traditional art form dating back more than a millenium. Many of the featured stories also have ancient origins. Wang and Xu have performed all over the U.S., since coming to this country in 1996. Oregon state folklorist Nancy Nusz will introduce and interview them.
