House Concert: Kristian Bugge & Keith Murphy

Kristian Bugge & Keith Murphy - transatlantic duo of fiddle and guitar. Despite growing up and living on each their side of the Atlantic Ocean, Keith Murphy and Kristian Bugge have known off and followed each other's music for years. For the first time this fall, you can get to hear them together, live on stage. Excitements are running high!
Fiddle player Kristian Bugge has specialized in the strong Danish folk music traditions. He is very active on the Danish and Scandinavian folk music scene as well as in the rest of Europe and North America, both as a musician and teacher. His debut CD was awarded "Danish debut of the year" and "Danish Folk Instrumentalist of the year" at the Danish Music Awards Folk back in 2006. At the same occasion in both 2012 and 2016, Kristian received the award as ”Danish Folk Artist of the Year!” More about Kristian
Newfoundland-born guitarist Keith Murphy is a rhythmic powerhouse on guitar and a traditional singer of rare finesse. A native of Newfoundland, he has lived in New England for many years where he has been an influential presence in the traditional music scene through his work with many respected bands, as a tune writer and as director of the Northern Roots Festival in Brattleboro, VT. He has four solo recordings of traditional songs, the most recent being Bright As Amber (2023). More about Keith
