Our featured tellers this month are the entrancing Milbre Burch and Elizabeth McCain!

Join us on Wednesday, November 8 at 7:30 EDT at Busboys and Poets Takoma; or, for out-of-towners, via Zoom. You can register FOR FREE for access to the live stream or to catch the recorded show later.

You will get emails with reminders on the date, time, and location, as well as Zoom information. We ask for donations to support our tellers, suggested $20 per person. Donations can be made online before, during, or after the event. 

The Grapevine is spoken word performance for adults and teens, celebrating the timeless art of the story, hosted by storytellers Renée Brachfeld and Tim Livengood.


ABOUT OUR TELLERS:

Milbre Burch is a storyteller in every sense of the word. She has been featured at festivals across America, in Europe, and Asia, and is an accidental archivist of the American storytelling revival. Milbre is a GRAMMY-nominated recording artist, a nationally known touring and teaching artist, a published writer and produced playwright. She is committed to telling stories to build community and to address social justice issues. Learn more

Elizabeth McCain believes that storytelling heals hearts, builds community, and changes the world. She is the author of the memoir, A Lesbian Belle Tells OUTrageous Southern Stories of Family, Loss, and Love. Elizabeth’s award-winning solo show, “A Lesbian Belle Tells”, has appeared in Fringe Festivals, Queer Theater Festivals, arts festivals, and at government agencies, retreats, and house concerts in this area and throughout the South.
