Contra dance in the Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park, Glen Echo, MD. Co-sponsored by Friday Night Dancers and FSGW.

Caller: Kappy Laning

Band: Box String Trio - Bill Quern and Sarah Gowan (combined; guitar, mandolin, concertina, melodeon, 4 & 5 string banjo, fiddle, harmonica, jaw harp and foot percussion) and Laura Alexander (cello). Box String Trio plays instrumental traditional roots music from the American Appalachians, England, Canada, Scandinavia, and France. 

Gender Free Terms for all dance calls. All dances will be taught. 

Lesson at 7:30pm

  • Registration is required of all participants. Pre-registration is preferred - you may pay online or wait to pay at the door. You may register at the door. Cash and credit card are accepted at the door.
  • Registrations may be cancelled prior to the event, and any payment will be refunded as a credit for future use. No refunds will be available after the event has started.

  • This is an FSGW Tier 1 event.


  • Masks (N95 / KN94 or equivalent) are required at all times.
  • All participants must be vaccinated with at least one booster. 
  • If you have not checked in at a previous FND/FSGW dance, your vaccination status will be checked at the door, please bring your card or a digital photo of your card and a government issued photo ID.
