In this workshop, Yiwei Geng from the Xuejuan Dance Ensemble in DC will talk about Chinese culture within the US before teaching the traditional Chinese dance body rhythm and posture. Learn about the large variety of traditional dance forms from China before experiencing the breath, mind, power, form (Yin and Yang) of Chinese heritage for yourself. 

Skill Level:  Beginner, all ages

About the Artist: Yiwei Geng graduated from Beijing Dance Academy. She has extensive experience in various dance techniques and is also a gifted choreographer. Yiwei performed in the original work "The Academy" at the National Theater Arts Festival in China. She participated in the Israeli Kibbutz Modern Dance Company Collaboration Project and toured. She won the Best Performance and Best Creation Award at the Academy Cup. Yiwei also served as the Executive Director of the 8th National Schools Dance Competition and taught full-time at the International Dance Academy of Beijing University of Humanities. She currently teaches at the Xuejuan Dance Ensemble in Washington DC. More about Yiwei here: https://xjdance.org/faculty
