Join us in singing songs of love for our partner, for our family, for our community, for our country, for humanity, and for a better world.
Frieda will get us started by leading a few of her favorite songs, with the lyrics shared on the screen so that everyone can sing along (muted, of course).
Then we'll go around the virtual room as many times as we can, giving everyone a chance to lead or request a song (or just pass) during each round.
You may lead or request any song that fits the theme. If you would like us to share the lyrics on the screen, please email those lyrics to fstollnitz@fsgw.org no later than noon EST on December 31 unless the song is already on the list below.
This session is part of the online Sea to Sea event sponsored by FSGW. The event includes singing, jamming, concerts and games as well as dancing To get the Zoom link for that event, register at <NYEdance.info>.
Having the most recent version of Zoom installed on your device will make it easier for you to optimize Zoom’s settings for musical sounds (vocal or instrumental) and to move yourself from one breakout room to another as you change sessions during the Sea to Sea or the Many Midnights event.
Please update your Zoom software (Zoom client on your computer or Zoom app on your tablet or smartphone) before joining the Sea to Sea or the Many Midnights event. As of December 30, Version 5.4.7 was the most recent (but it's 5.0.0 for Chrome OS). On a computer, go to <zoom.us/support/download> to download the Zoom Client for Meetings, and run the ZoomInstaller file that you downloaded. On a tablet or smartphone, update the Zoom app from your App Store or equivalent.
If this will be your first use of Zoom, go to <https://zoom.us>, click on " Sign Up, It's Free " and follow the prompts (entering your email address when asked for "your work email"). Do this ahead of time so that you'll be all set to "join the meeting" when it's time to do so. Information about getting started with Zoom is at <https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/categories/200101697>.
If you will be leading songs, you should know how to locate the Zoom Audio settings on your device so that you can turn off “Automatically adjust microphone volume,” enable Original Sound, and turn on “High fidelity music mode.” We can help you if you join the session 5 or 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
