  • 08 Mar 2019
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Lloyd House

From old-time country and bluegrass to the subject of her book Robert Johnson for Banjo, from Irish folk tunes to jazz, Lydia Martin takes the banjo to old haunts and new frontiers. She has taught at Common Ground on the Hill and Miles of Music and is working on a documentary film called Living Tradition. She released a solo CD, Chasing the Ghost, in 2016. Emily Martin, on mandolin, has played and studied extensively in Ireland along with her daughter Elora, and they grew up together in the Martin Family String Band.

Take the free trolley that runs every 15 minutes from King Street Metro station! At historic Lloyd House (220 N Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314). $15 suggested donation; cash bar.
