The Great American Square Dance Revival - Part XVII

  • St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Washington, DC
FSGW's DC Square Dance Collective is turning 2! We're celebrating our second anniversary with a special fundraiser dance for St. Stephen's Church. Our dances would not be possible without the incredible generosity of St. Stephen's in sharing their space with us. To thank them, we're joining in their capital campaign to raise funds to renovate the building!

We'll be celebrating in the best way we know how, with a big ol' square dance, lively old-time tunes, and a few hundred good folks (that's where you come in). To mark our 2-year birthday we are bringing back the original band and caller that played our very first dance in 2011. The Possum Wranglers: Paul Brown and Scott Prouty on fiddles & banjo, Brandt Ryder on guitar, & Kevin Enoch on bass are some of the finest old-time players around, and the calling of our dear Janine Smith can't be beat. We are lucky to get them all in the same place at the same time again!

Admission is just $5 at the door. We also welcome additional donations if you are able - 100% of door proceeds go to the church. Funds will be used to make significant improvements to this well-used building, so that it can continue for decades to come to provide space for people to worship, perform, DANCE, celebrate, and work for justice.
