Gotham Pioneers is a new band featuring musicians from the New England contra dance scene. Naomi Morse on fiddle is known from her other bands Housetop and Grapevine, Lise Brown on flute and sax is the leader and arranger of the mega band Big Bandemonium, Peter Siegel on mandolin and guitar plays with the Greenfield Dance Band and Housetop, and Owen Marshall, well Owen on guitar and a variety of other string instruments plays with just about everyone! Together they create their own individual style of contra featuring elements of swing, Latin, bluegrass, harmonium drone, and even a touch of English!
