Tom Lewis (Special Event)

  • 19 Oct 2010
  • 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • McGintys Irish Pub--Arlington, Arlington, VA
This 24-year veteran of the British Submarine Service brings a wealth of experience and authenticity to the realm of nautical song. His songs are known and sung wherever great choruses ring out. His powerful delivery and wide-ranging repertoire - from traditional shanties to self-penned songs and stories - recruits his audience for a most entertaining voyage.

Tom's Belfast heritage is reflected in his honest delivery of the lament as well as the shanty. He brings button accordion and ukulele as accompaniment, but it's his voice - and salty stories - that will bring you back to hear him again and again.

From his home in Canada?s Rockies, Tom is touring several venues and events around the Chesapeake Bay. This is his only concert in northern Virginia. A new venue for FSGW, McGinty's/Arlington is about a block from where Four Mile Run enters the Potomac River just south of National Airport. Check out the new pub, the food and drink, the free parking (in the retail area, >>NOT Harris Teeter
