Where is the DC Square Dance? The Church where we have been dancing for the past 4 and a half years, Saint Stephen's of the Incarnation in Columbia Heights, is undergoing major renovations, to be completed in March 2016. We have searched far and wide but have not been able to find another suitable venue. Stay tuned here or check in with our Facebook page (click on the link below) for updates. If you know of a potential dance venue, just give us a ring, we're all ears. We hope to have a few dances at various locations around DC before we are back in business at Saint Stephen's.
Come on down and get your hoedown on!
FSGW's newly-formed DC Square Dance Collective is pleased to invite you to a traditional Appalachian old-time square dance. Used to be that square dancing could be found in almost any American city or town, danced by young and old, black and white, urban and rural folks alike. Today, it's making a comeback as folks re-discover the sheer joy of a foot-stomping, rollicking, barn-shaking dance party. You'll want to check this out. . . ...and we bet you'll be back for more.
Lookie HERE or HERE at one of our recent shindigs! See what all the buzzzzzz is about in person. Come on out and join us!
